Lakeview High School students value education and high determination. This is why they have the monthly reward of the Student of the Month. This gives acknowledgement and recognition to a student who deserves it.
“I was surprised and honored when I heard that I was the student of the month,” stated junior Megan Morton. She was in the library printing papers when a teacher came up to her and congratulated her. Morton didn’t even know she was picked until that moment. That was not the only congratulations that Morton got through the month that she was chosen.
Being the student of the month is a huge achievement. Teachers and staff are always looking for students who stand out in areas of hard work, determination, dedication, and good grades. Students must also be friendly and set a good example for the rest of the student body. They have been writing post cards to send out to those worthy students. Many students at Lakeview show these characteristics; it's a tough decision to decide who will be the student of the month.
“I really liked getting a free t-shirt”, says Morton. Not only does the student of the month get recognition from teachers and other students of the school, but they also get a ‘Viking Way’ shirt to commemorate the honor. Way to go, Megan!
