Friday night lights are back as coach Kurt Frenzen's Lakeview Vikings took the field to defeat the Eagles of Milford/Dorchester during the first home football game of the season winning 30-14.
Friday night lights are back as coach Kurt Frenzen's Lakeview Vikings took the field to defeat the Eagles of Milford/Dorchester during the first home football game of the season winning 30-14.
“Defense played lights out, and offense played really good,” said senior defensive tackle Zach Kobza. “Jaden's (Johnson) working great in practices. He can take hits well and is good at both passing and throwing,” Kobza adds. Sophomore quarterback Johnson threw two passes to senior wide receiver Nick Dolezal caught two touchdown passes. Dolezal also scored three points on a field goal.
Half-back sophomore Jacob Frenzen rushed 157 yards for 17 carries while senior linebackers Jordan Janssen and Jarrod Blaser both intercepted passes leading to eventual touchdowns.
“We’ve been focusing on our special teams in practices and working on tackles. Of course there’s always room for improvement,” said Kobza. With their first win in the books, the Lakeview football team is confident going into their game against Norfolk Catholic tonight.
