Coming off a loss to Norfolk Catholic on Friday, the Lakeview Vikings are still walking with their heads held high. The competition may be tough, but the team is showing great effort and teamwork with every game. Head coach Kurt Frenzen knows the importance of watching film to focus on what  the team needs to fix in practices.
“We made mistakes early on, but we had good effort,” said Frenzen. The team had a rough start in the beginning, but had a good turnover toward the end that gained us some points leaving the game in a loss of 49-22. The Vikings have each been focusing on their job and taking care of their responsibilities. “We’ve been focusing on making the practices as game-like as possible,” notes Frenzen.
The seniors have transitioned well into their senior role. They’ve been making everyone on the team feel good and welcome. They continue to embrace sophomore quarterback Jaden Johnson. This season Frenzen is taking a whole new look to the Viking football, and focusing on creating a new identity.
“Our ceiling is still really high. We still haven't played our best football yet, and that’s awesome. At this point, we are still heading in a good direction and making improvements,” adds Frenzen. The Vikings host the Pioneers from Fort Calhoun in the Homecoming game this Friday night.
